Taco Seasoning
1 Tbsp Chili Powder (get a salt-free variety from your health food store. Genesee Natural Foods has it.)
1/4 Tsp Garlic Powder
1/4 Tsp Onion Powder
1/4 Tsp Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 Tsp Oregano
1/2 Tsp Paprika
1 1/2 Tsp Cumin
* You can add some salt if needed. (Not recommended for your heart health.)
I’m not eating meat, so I used this to season TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein – also available at Genesee Natural Foods — www.gnfi.com ). If you’re avoiding concentrated soy protein products such as TVP, you can use taco seasoning to flavor other options; maybe rice, bulgar, quinoa, etc. Experiment and let me know.
